Former Mets/Reds/Orioles/Dodgers manager Davey Johnson has been named skipper of the US team scheduled to compete in the 2005 IBAF World Cup.

Johnson (above), who most recently filled in for Robert Eenhorn, managing the Dutch national squad, is best remembered for leading the ’86 Mets to a World Series title, along with running afoul of Marge Schott for living with a lady he wasn’t married to. They take a dim view of sex outside of marriage in Major League Baseball, and for that reason alone Davey has been without a high profile job for some time.

Scared Straight/Ten Foot Pole/Pulley frontman Scott Radinsky (above, left) has been named to Johnson’s coaching staff.
