Justin Upton, the no. 1 pick in the 2005 Amateur Draft (and younger brother of 2000 no. 1 pick, B.J. Upton) signed a minor league deal with Arizona on Friday, including a $6.1 million signing bonus spread over 5 years.
Said bonus is the largest in a minor league pact, surpassing the $5.3 million OF Joe Bouchard received from the White Sox in 2000.
