Gonzaga 109, Michigan State 106 (triple OT)
The most grueling and intense Hawaiian experience since the Jack Lord spoken word box set, the anxiety only interrupted by the frequent clips from EA Sports’ NCAA 2006 — in an age where a pop culture maven like David Stern can’t hope to maintain his grip on America’s youth, it’s nice to see that the college game is ready to wave the white flag.
Hey,
Here’s another opportunity to add to the Will Leitch Sucks category. in his “about last night” segment of deadspin there was no mention of what had to be last night’s biggest game. Not suprisingly, however, there was a mention of Illinois’ pointless win over Texas Southern.
Sorry JL, I’ve got to take issue with that. If the win was “pointless”, that would’ve been a scoreless draw.
Yeah, that tv comedy gig is right around the corner.
But seriously, as someone with many interests on the periphry of the mainstream, I applaud Will’s ability to keep the NYC media elite fully informed about crucial developments at the University Of Illinois and Busch Stadium. Now if he can just get some advertisers besides gambling sites, everything will be ok (apparently, you can’t pay for a mocha latte with a mention in the NY Times).
I’m equally in awe of how Will picked up on Red Sox owner John Henry answering questions over at Sons Of Sam Horn. Future scoops to come : Curt Schilling (hearts) Everquest and Stephen A. Smith speaks in a loud voice
