From the Chicago Sun-Times’ Mike Kiley :
After Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens threw out the first pitch before Wednesday’s game, the question before the bench seems to be, what if Stevens has to rule on Tribune Co.’s attempt to overturn an FCC ruling that bars cross-ownership in some cities of television stations and newspapers?
The ruling applies to Los Angeles, New York and Hartford, Conn., where the Tribune is seeking legal decisions in its favor.
If the case goes to the Supreme Court, could Stevens (above), a native Chicagoan, rule fairly after being honored as a guest of the Tribune? And was there a little legislative glad-handing going on in the grand style of Chicago politics?
