Missouri won their 4 consecutive game of the year against Texas last night, a 31-12 rout in Columbia (“played something like a cross between Denver™s Coors Field and a little league stadium on the moon”, wrote the Missourian’s Sam Miles) coming on the heels of a 3 game sweep in Austin earlier this year. While the contest was marked by 4 HR’s for the Tigers’ Jacob Priday — Missouri torched Longhorn pitching to the tune of a record 9 round-trippers in one game — Texas’ radio duo of Craig Way and Keith Moreland seemed to think their side was being shown up.
When Priday clobbered his 4th blast of the evening, a two-run to centerfield on a 3-0 count, Moreland couldn’t believe the Missouri outfielder had a green light.
“Swinging away…with a 3-0 count…and a 15 run lead. That’s really..interesting. I don’t know if I’ve seen that before,” mused Moreland.
From that point, the duo had a heated discussion over whether or not Missouri’s inability to stop themselves from scoring would result in some kind of future payback. Like say, Texas pitching holding them to single digits?
