The St. Paul Saints, having left the Northern League for the newly formed American Association, have announced their promotion dates for the 2006 season. As you might expect from a team whose ownership group includes Mike Veeck and Bill Murray, at least one of their schemes is guaranteed to generate a bit of publicity.
· May 27 Love Boat Anniversary Party. This celebration of the 30th anniversary of the TV show includes a giveaway to the first 2500 fans. The unique color scheme of the œMinnetonka Queen may remind fans of another well-known Twin Cities area vessel that has been in the news.
Also on tap for the Saints in ’06, a couple of nights that recall the Veeck lineage.
· July 22 Smallball Night. A tribute to Eddie Gaedel, the smallest man ever to play professional baseball is mixed in with the team™s annual Card giveaway.
· August 24 VHS Demolition Night. The natural followup to Disco Demolition Night.
