Jose Lima only allowed 1 run during last week’s 5 inning stint against Buffalo. Tonight, however, he wasn’t fooling anyone. Lima, starting for the Mets’ Norfolk Tides against the Phillies’ Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons, has been rocked to the tune of 9 runs and 11 hits in the space of 3 and 2/3rds innings. On the bright side, Easter weekend is over, so Lima’s pitching, however horrible, can now be considered safe for Scranton, PA television.

Back with the parent club in Flushing, LF Cliff Floyd has exited tonight’s game with the Braves in the 5th inning after legging out a double to left field. No word yet on what’s ailing Floyd, but I’d like to think he asked for the rest of the night off so he can personally hunt down Steven “Boogie” Brown. The Mets are up 4-2, the decisive blows thus far coming on a 2nd inning solo HR by Xavier Nady and a 2-run HR by Carlos Delgado in the 3rd.

Before this season is over, someone is going to intentionally walk Albert Pujols with the bases loaded…and the winning run on 3rd. Anything to avoid the neck strain.
