YES and SNY might want to steal shtick from the crew at Angels Stadium and use “Kiss Cam.”

If the camera is focused on you, you have to kiss the person sitting by your side. Saturday, in the seventh inning (Yankees-Angels), “Kiss Cam” was on YES voices Michael Kay and Ken Singleton. Singleton elected to hug Mr. Kay rather than plant a wet one.

“Kenny looked like he wanted to kiss,” Kay said.

“No I didn’t,” Singleton (above) replied. “Don’t start that rumor, Mikey.”

Earlier that evening, Singleton, uncharacteristically, was hot over a reporter questioning Garrett Anderson’s commitment by saying the outfielder was not hustling. “That should be an issue for the manager,” Singleton said. “Not a reporter.”

Still, if reporters, columnists, radio talkies and even baseball broadcasters didn’t critique players, things would be pretty boring. Some people might even be out of a job.
