(St. Louis’ Drunks With Guns console themselves over coming in at no. 904)
Despite claims their poll was “listener powered and listener voted”, a cursory scan of the Seattle broadcaster’s Top 903 albums of all time reveals said list could only have been compiled by one man. Take a bow, Ronald Thomas Clonte!
Sadly, Madness’ _Night Boat To Cairo_, the world’s first ska record, couldn’t make the 903. Vampire Weekend, the world’s first World Music record, got jobbed at a disappointing #107.
Also, it seems like there were at least 16 or 17 additional Radiohead volumes they coulda put into the top 20. I demand a recount!
At least they got the Pixies, Jeff Buckley and Built to Spill over the Stooges and Velvets.

PS I got Wire minus Peter Gammons at Bill Grahamland West tonight They should know better than to tour during October.
Three Moby releases but no “Burning In Water”? KEXP is dead to me.
I just have a small bone to pick – why no Wire Train?
4! Radioheed globs in front of Slanted and Enchanted?
and no Fat Mattress?
I’m gonna be fucking pissed if there isn’t a Velvet Revolver album in the top ten.
Wait, that was an actual radio station playlist? I thought it was Johnny Dormroom’s Last.fm charts.
Arcade Fire, 3rd? Really? Shit, I’d put Combat Rock in front of Funeral. Ok, I’m kidding. Well not really, I love Combat Rock. But 3rd still seems high.
And in terms of Vampire Weekend and their “world music”, I really don’t feel like seeing East Coast, Ivy League, Frat Boys with a taste for Paul Simon’s Graceland in the top 500.
Hey! I made a Clontle reference about 15 hours earlier on my blog regarding the Pitchfork book. Stop stealing my (borrowed) material!
In retaliation I’ll be posting an in depth analysis of the KEXP list rife with Drunks with Guns references. I’d rather be “Punched in the Head” than listen to most of this list.
