I believe it was Tommy Hoops who recently opined there were two kinds of people in this world : those who recognize how terrific these NBA playoffs have been, and everyone else.
I’m sorry, Sir Hoops. There three kinds of people in this world. The first group you mentioned, the second group, and NBA GM’s who couldn’t find anything useful for the not-quite-washed up Tim Thomas to do.
The epitaph on the Pacers’ season, courtesy of the Indianapolis Star:
“It was (expletive) ridiculous this season,” said Pacers center Scot Pollard, who is an unrestricted free agent. “I’ve never seen or been a part of a more messed-up situation in my career. It was a combination of a ton of things. If they were by themselves it wouldn’t be a problem, but when they all hit there’s nothing you can do about it.”
By the way, Anthony Johnson, congratulations on being the only Pacer to give a (expletive) this series. And a big (expletive) you to Peja Stojakovic, who saved himself for his permanent suitor with more commitment than those kids who sign “True Love Waits” pledges.
