“We decided we would launch with a controversial ad that would piss a lot of people off,” says Ladd Ehlinger, Jr., a conservative filmmaker who has produced unconventional political ads in the past. “If I get dinged a little, then so be it,” – Salon, June 15, 2011
Multiple outlets (including Gawker and LA Weekly) are reporting the musical accompaniment to the above commercial was supplied by veteran Florida rappers The Splack Pack, who to coin a phrase, won’t be having any platinum parties anytime soon. You can, however, befriend them on Facebook.
I fail to see what you hope to accomplish with this ad. I’m guessing you believe this politician is giving police jobs away. From what I know, the police can use all the help they can get to keep creeps off the street, we need a way to reform criminals and give them hope by allowing them to be contributor to society rather than a burden. This politician has found a creative way to help the police, create jobs for those who have little hope of getting a legit gig. Not only have you done your best to divide people, but you’ve done it in a way that is truly juvenile. You think your smart, not at all
The ad attacks the history of Janice Hahn giving money to hardcore gang bangers who pretend to be reformed while continuing their criminal enterprises on her dime. It is the epitome of outrageous because the actions of Hahn are outrageously stupid. It will be interesting to see how many people who see this ad actually bother to find out what it is attacking, instead of worrying about whether it is racist, sexist or anything more than what you see in music videos.
If you don’t know the history of Janice Hahn and how many of her gang intervention guys have been arrested for major felonies while claiming to be good guys, do the research.
Hahn is outrageous. This ad just points it out.
