(someone else’s is gonna have to chime on the rest of today’s action —I think there’s another Jefferson Starship reunion gig in the Park today. Either that or the Melvins)
Maryland 82, Davidson 70 – Stephen Curry, as smooth as dad Dell, and a superior outside threat to Eddy (whom he is not related to). That said, the Terps survived a poor shooting performance by D.J. Strawberry (I missed the crowd shots of Darryl while making breakfast) and will advance to play the winner of Butler/ODU.
Louisville 78, Stanford 58 – over before it started, really. Edgar Sosa (shown above with Earl Clark) and David Padgett combined to score 32 points, and Rick Pitino had little difficulty motivating his players in the city where he’s got more enemies than anywhere else. Other than Boston, that is.
Boston College 84, Texas Tech 75 – Dick Enberg suggested this might’ve been Bobby Knight’s last game. Which would indeed, be a very sad thing — without the verbal and physical abuse, is there any other reason to go to school in Lubbock?
In honor of the Terrapin win, I hope someone changes their pick-em name to Ill Osby.
