The Bengals won’t be going 0-16, the Lions still have a shot at a winless season (despite knocking Kyle Orton out the game)…and on the other end of the spectrum, who’d have predicted after the opening week drama surrounding Vince Young, the Tennessee Titans would have have the NFL’s lone perfect mark at the halfway point?

A 41 yard field goal from Rob Bironas gave the Titans a 19-16 OT victory over Green Bay earlier today, one of four Bironas field goals on the afternoon.  14 year vet Kerry Collins passed for a mere 180 yards, and while the former Panthers/Giants QB has just 3 INT’s on the season, he’s only thrown 3 TD’s, as well.  Tennesse’s defense and unglammy running game continue to impress (Chris Johnson and Len Dale White combined for 166 yards on 32 carries), but it still requires a doubletake when the league’s sole unbeaten squad ranks 27th in passing.

With the Giants holding a 14-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter, Dallas ‘ Terrell Owens just fumbled at the New York 7 yard line.  “WHO DOES HE BLAME?” bellowed the gent sitting two tables away.  To be fair, a) the pass was behind T.O., and b) this was his first fumble since joining the Cowboys.  Also, it’s gotta be hard to concentrate on the task at hand when Matthew Berry is writing such cruel things.

(UPDATE : Giants 14, Cowboys 7.  Eli Manning threw a TD pass….to rookie CB Mike Jenkins, whose 23 yard return put Dallas on the board. Bad vibes on the sideline between Eli and Plaxico Fantastico, the latter catching ample flak for running the wrong route. Or just being Plaxico.)
