Alternative title : “Give The Drummer Some (Lessons)”
Perhaps in honor of Jim Leyland’s first postseason victory in about 400 hundred years, Tim Cook submits live footage of Black Oak Arkansas.
Writes Tim,
The hightlight, for me, is Jim Dandy’s re-emergence after the excruciating, soul-killing 7minute(!) drum solo (about 10:41 in). In fact I haven’t seen anything this incredible since BTO at the Tacoma Dome sometime in the late ’90s.
Around 1980 Melissa Etheridge gave a presentation to our junior high school class about the evils of Black Oak Arkansas in relation to evangelical Christianity. From that point forward I always had a soft spot in my heart for Jim Dandy and his ability to piss off Melissa Etheridge.
Don
ps- I’m referring to Melissa Etheridge from my junior high school and not the singer-songwriter.
