“I was young once and I did a lot things I regret,” said Indiana president Larry Bird, in response to reports a Twitter pissing match between Pacers swingman Brandon Rush and fans turned ugly. Before anyone starts a Fake Hick From French Lick account, let’s consider Rush’s (dubious) side of the story, as relayed by the Indianapolis Star’s Mike Wells ;
Rush said that he did not post the expletives and homosexual references on his Twitter page during a disagreement with a fan.
“It definitely got hacked,” Rush said at Conseco Fieldhouse this morning. “I kind of know who did it and how it was done. We’re working on it. People who know me know that’s not my type of personality. That’s all I have to say about it.”
Rush deleted the comments and hasn’t posted anything on his Twitter page since Nov. 27. Team officials are expected to meet with Rush about the incident.
