After Jeff Weaver’s 2nd brilliant start in 3 outings, the Los Angles Dodgers (of Los Angeles) have baseball’s best record. This has been accomplished without the services of Eric Gagne and runs contrary to the popular consensus that the loss of Adrian Beltre coupled with the questionable additions of J.D. Drew, Scott Erickson, Jeff Kent and Jose Valentin, would render these Dodgers also-rans in the NL West. While 11 games does not a full season make, perhaps we can consider the possibility that Paul DePodesta is not out of his mind.
