Isn’t the Commissioner’s Office supposed to frown about this kind of thing? To wit, Atlanta’s announcement earlier today that GM John Schuerholz (above) is being kicked upstairs after 16 years of violating Tom Glavine’s confidence unparalleled success.

Braves assistant GM Frank Wren succeeds Schuerholz. While there’s no word yet about the long term future of skipper Bobby Cox — who has one year remaining on his current deal — I think I speak for a fearful Mrs. Cox baseball fans everywhere in urging Atlanta to remove the lame duck tag from the manager’s neck with a lengthy extension.

While the Arizona Republic reports there are nearly 12,000 tickets remaining for Games One and Two of the NLCS, a Denver man has been arrested after selling local cops Rockies playoff ducats for more than 3 times their face value.  I take it back, Denver’s really a baseball town.
