From the Only Man Who Really Cares in today’s NY Post :
On Friday, Chris Berman’s “Two Minute Drill” focused on ” who else? ” Chris Berman. The same old clips of Berman being tackled by some Bucs, catching a toss from Tom Brady, playing golf.
But give Berman credit. Few of us could summon the gall to so to so consistently and shamelessly exploit sports to promote himself to a national audience.
Other than Joe Buck, Steve Lyons, Tom Arnold or countless others who’ve been employed by Phil’s bosses, I can’t think of anyone else guilty of exploiting sports to promote themseleves to a national audience.
I’m certain that if ABC/Disney owned the NY Post instead of News Corp., Phil would still continue to slam ESPN at every available opportunity, such is his journalistic integrity.
Yeah, but the thing is…. Phil’s right. berman was busy talking himself up and wishing ESPN happy birthday for the millionth time. Since when do TV networks have “birthdays” and beyond that, who cares to celebrate them? Enoggh berman.
