If you’re a New Jersey Nets fan, the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand just ruined your Friday morning.

Nets win! Thuuuuuh Nets win! Well, depending on your point of view, maybe they don’t.
Tonight in Memphis, with Marv Albert and Ian Eagle unavailable, John Sterling will fill in on play-by-play for the Nets on YES, a network spokesman confirmed.

Sterling, the Yankees’ play-by-player on radio, also will call the action tomorrow in Dallas, and next Friday when the Nets go to Boston.

A few years back, when the Nets moved from Fox Sports NY to the Yankee-owned YES, Sterling tried to land the play-by-play job but came up short.

Sterling was the radio voice of the Nets in the late-’70s.

The question now is, when Vince Carter shoots a 3-pointer, will Sterling go to the, “It is high! It is far! It is … good” call?
