This seems like a pretty extreme method of coping with being denied a gig at one of downtown’s plethora of jello-shot establishments. But who’s to say The Strange Boys didn’t get their start exactly the way?
In all seriousness, this might be the only time I’ve seen a band pull this kind of stunt only to have their trailer mistaken for a pizza wagon.
Surprisingly I can top this. In the mid 90’s an upstate NY band named Snapper was denied a gig at a floating bar called Gully’s in Newburgh NY. The Band actually loaded up their equipment, generator and all onto the guitar players boat and played for about thirty minutes on the Hudson River. Very humorous but needless to say they never played the bar again.
I went to their (pathetically untraffic-ed) MySpace page; they’re coming to Connecticut to pull the same shit in April. Time to stock up on hand grenades.
