Stewart Mandel notes that it’s hard to get worked up about college football upsets anymore (though I’m sure that Buster Olney is just giddy in the Fenway press box).
To that I offer up the following:
Temple remained in contention for a division title in its first season in the Mid-American Conference.
Al Golden’s Owls earned its third straight win (for the first time since 1990) by beating faded MAC powerhouse Miami (No Ohio Necessary), 24-17.
Update (well, more like an afterthought): “North Dakota State tops Minnesota” is a perfectly familiar headline… just not in football.
