As ex-cop Charles Schwarz enjoyed a little freedom yesterday, some neighbors and fellow residents of his upstate halfway house aren’t thrilled that a figure from the infamous Abner Louima case is living nearby.

“What’s he doing up here?” local resident Jim Place, 59, indignantly asked a Daily News reporter. “How come you guys didn’t keep him?”

“That guy must be a real jerk,” said a man who lives in the facility, which can house 36 people and sports a computer room, game room and library.

On the bright side, if they ever have any trouble with the toilet, Schwarz has all sorts of experience with the tools of the trade.
