Randy Moss is making a shitload of money….catching passes. And presumably, Dante Culpepper is being paid a ton of loot to throw the football. So why, pray tell, with the game on the line, would the Vikings entrust the former to throw the ball into double coverage rather than being on the receiving end?
Granted, there is the element of surprise, but you could achieve roughly the same thing by putting in Ed Asner as a third-down back. That too, would’ve been a foolish decision, but it might not have cost the Vikings a shot at the playoffs.
(Asner, not a fan of trick plays)
wasn’t that the name of a butthole surfers song? anyway, asner may not have been athletic, but he was, however, built like a fullback. i think he would have been better as a block but you never know…..if they did slot him in perhaps he would’ve had a 100 yard day…..
