How completely removed from reality would Miami’s Dwyane Wade and LeBron James have to be in order to openly ridicule Dirk Nowitzki’s recent health woes and not expect a further blow to their shit reputations with anyone other than Heats fans and sickening frontrunners? Nowitzki, probably the most revered German in the U.S. this side of Udo Dirkschneider, called the duo’s actions, “ignorant, but to believe Wade’s side of the story, the whole thing is (mostly) media manufactured. From the Sun-Sentinel’s Ira Winderman :
During Saturday’s media session at AmericanAirlines Arena, a reporter from the New York Times, the New York Times, mind you, asks this as the very first question, during a session being broadcast live by the NBA:
“Dwyane, you were caught on camera fake coughing and it appeared that you were mocking Dirk. I’m wondering how would you feel if Jason Terry or Dirk came in today with exaggerated limps mocking your hip injury. Could you just address that?”
The first question mind you. Not about potential Heat elimination with Sunday’s Game 6 of these Finals pending. Not about Wade’s hip injury sustained two nights early.
Wade smiled, as if expecting the question.
“Yeah,” he said. “First of all, it wasn’t fake coughing. I actually did cough. And with the cameras being right there, we made a joke out of it because we knew you guys were going to blow it up. You did exactly what we knew.
“We never said Dirk’s name. I think he’s not the only one in the world who can get sick or have a cough. We just had fun with the cameras being right in our face about the blowup of the incident, and it held to be true. You blew it up.”
