Cards 2, Padres 0 (top of the 7th)
With all due respect to John Maine, Jeff Weaver’s strong showing against San Diego today is the biggest surprise of the week. And while I’m not about to start rooting for the Cards under any circumstances, the possibility that we might’ve seen the last of the Sultan Of Sloth (well, outside of a trips to Hogs & Heifers) is something worth celebrating. Plenty of time to roast Fredbird in the NLCS. And with that in mind, I’m off to Shea — periodic posts, sans photos to follow.
Not that I’m a stickler for realism in TV advertising, but surely there isn’t a girls dorm on earth that would allow Tommy Lasorda on the premises, tuxedo or not.
