If nothing else, Earles can save you a lot of time and energy that might otherwise be spent on a trip to the movie theatre.

I’ve been staying out of the cinemas lately, mostly because that skateboarding dog video on YouTube is so much more enjoyable than most of the fare on offer. I did however see “The Ringer” on an airplane the other day, and I found the film noteable for the following reasons (only) :

1) Johnny Knoxville has more trouble with a part clearly written for Jim Carey 12 years ago than you might think.
2) Brian Cox has more trouble with a part clearly written for Jerry Stiller than you might think.
3) Hard as it may be to believe, it is apparently possible to make a motion picture that includes cameos from both Terry Funk and The Kids of Widney High and still not be very good.
