Texas Longhorn sophomore LaMarcus Aldridge will almost certainly forgo his remaining two years of eligibility and enter the NBA draft, team officials who asked not to be identified confirmed Sunday.
It has been expected for some time that Aldridge, a 6-foot-11-inch forward, was leaning toward the NBA, where he is projected as one of the top five picks. Aldridge and his family could not be reached Sunday night, but team officials made it clear that it is just a matter of time before he makes the announcement.
A top 3 pick? Maybe no. 1 overall? Sorry to keep repeating the less-brittle-version-of-Marcus-Camby line, but Aldridge could be a difference maker much earlier.
