The Seahawks and reigning NFL MVP Shaun Alexander have come to terms on an 8 year, $62 million deal, frontloaded with $15 million in bonuses and 2006 salary.
The odds of Alexander playing for the length of the contract are pretty slim, but that’s the NFL for you.
With $9.2 million in salary cap savings in the balance, Oakland has waived Kerry Collins. The former Giants/Panthers QB had a 7-21 record in two seasons with the Raiders. It seems entirely probably that Collins will end up in Baltimore, and not on the 4th season of “The Wire”, either.
If you’ve been following the fractious NFL labor negotiations on ESPN, I don’t have to tell you that Chris Mortensen looks like a man who just found out his wife just ran away with Steve Earle.
