ESPN is reporting that the NBA has indefinetly suspended Indiana’s Ron Artest, Jermaine O’Neal and Stephen Jackson, along with Detroit’s Ben Wallace, following Friday’s riot at the Palace.

No word yet from the league as to whether or not the Pacers can get some bodies from the NBDL, given that they were struggling to dress 8 players prior to this incident, nor has the league levied any sort of a fine against the Pistons for their failure to protect players from random attacks. That several Pacers might face legal action won’t be shocking, but perhaps some season ticket holders in Detroit ought to lose their seats, too.

Quote of the day comes from the sensible Jeff Van Gundy :

“People are putting all the burden on Artest, and I don’t think that’s fair. He’s an easy target because of all the things he’s been through. But some fans have gotten to a point where they think they can do or say anything.”
