With Roger Clemens’ status for 2005 far from resolved and P Wade Miller having received a clean bill of health following last year’s rotator cuff surgery, it is surprising that Houston would chose to non-tender the latter.
On the other hand, with Miller (above) eligible for arbitration and probably due for a healthy raise above his 2004 salary of $3.5 million, it’s also likely that Houston are looking to giving themselves some breathing room in the event their offer to Carlos Beltran is increased.
