One of the most heralded hockey fighters of his generation, former Red Wings/Blackhawks F Bob Probert, has died this afternoon in Windsor, Ont.  With 3300 career penalty minutes in a 16 year NHL career, Probert’s 1989 conviction on federal cocaine possession/distribution charges led to a 6 month suspension from professional hockey.  Best remembered for his tenure as Steve Yzerman’s bodyguard, if not his long series of battles with Tie Domi, the above clip provides a hint of Probert doing what he did best.
