(possibly a photo of once-and-future enemies Scott Rolen and Tony La Genius celebrating their 2006 NL pennant, or perhaps it was taken sometime that July during a heated discussion)

Brandon Phillips’ pithy assessment of the St. Louis baseball club is said to have been what touched off Monday’s brawl between the Reds and Cardinals. That’s just fine with Bugs & Cranks’ Mark Townsend, who denounces the Cards as “the whiniest franchise in all sports.”

If Yadier Molina’s childish mockery of Phillips’ already obnoxious trot around the bases didn’t make you stop and think twice about them, maybe some of these will.  These are just a few examples of the whining they do that drives me nuts, drives Brandon Phillips, drives Scott Rolen nuts, drives anybody that knows the truth about the St. Louis Cardinals absolutely nuts.

Dave Duncan accuses White Sox of stealing signs.
Carpenter and LaRussa go after Coors Field Grounds Crew.
Here’s LaRussa accusing the Reds and Bronson Arroyo of wrong doing last September.
Who could forget the white towels caused Matt Holliday to take flyball in the groin crapola?
They even whine at each other.  Chris Carpenter lectures Brendan Ryan in the dugout.
We all know Mark McGwire is a liar and whiner.
Someone get me a video of all the batters Tony LaRussa pitchers have thrown at over the years.
