From the Dallas Morning News’ Evan Grant :

When Cordero struck out Joe McEwing to end the game, he added a body-clutching gesture to his usual end-of-game routine in which he points to the sky. The Royals took offense. The benches emptied, though it was more milling around than rushing the field. The hottest words were exchanged afterward, though Rangers pitching coach Orel Hershiser stopped Cordero from talking and told a TV man to shut off his camera.

And the Royals pledged to hold a grudge. McEwing told reporters that Cordero’s actions were “unprofessional.” Kansas City third base coach Luis Silverio said the actions “disrespected the uniform and the game of baseball.”

I don’t know what the world is coming to when striking out Joe McEwing is enough to spark a riot. It happened pretty often in Flushing and nobody batted an eye or grabbed a dick.
