Down 35-7 to No.19 Oklahoma State with less than two minutes left in the first half, No. 7 Texas responded with an unconscious offensive outburst, scoring 49 unanswered points en route to a 56-35 lead (6:56 remaining). 5 rushing TD’s -4 in the second half — for RB Cedric Benson (142 yards), 279 yards in the air for Vince Young (1 42 yard rushing TD).

None of that however, compares on the thrill meter to the Texas marching band’s salute to Saturday morning television. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard the theme tunes to “The Flintstones”, “The Jetsons”, “Spiderman”, “Superman”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Super Mario Bros.” (ok, they lost me on this one) rendered by several dozen brass players staggering around in what could be very well be a formation/code intended for terrorists who’ve hijacked the blimp flying above. In the interests of safety (ie. my own), I’m watching the finish to this one at home.
