Finally, an excuse to have the results of NLCS Game 2 thrown out. From MLB.com :
The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that pitcher Guillermo Mota, who finished the 2006 season as a member of the New York Mets, has been suspended for 50 games for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. His suspension will be effective for the start of the 2007 season.
They’re only testing for joint -smoking?
Sad to report Jack McKeon is merely yelling “throw it, throw it,” rather than something a bit more Bobby Knight-esque.
I now blame roid range for his shaking off a 198% correct Lo Duca on that fourth pitch fastball. Why, OH WHY, couldn’t he have just thrown the slop. We’d be previewing rings right now.
Sujan,
it’s not what Jack said, it’s the way he said it. It’s all about tone. At least that’s what they keep telling me down at the office.
That’s true. And he is cracking the whip rather forcefully, as evidenced by the font size.
Maybe Mota can suit up for the Knicks while he waits out the suspension?
