1) The Mets, hungry for programming for their new cable network, will now have to look for more sophisticated content.
2) The NHL is a hotter property than I ever imagined if they can sell 20 years worth of programming at a time when the league looks to be facing extinction.

I followed that link, and there was a poll pop-up that asked the question, “are you following the Japan MLB series?” I hadn’t heard of any major league players getting injured or complaining about going, so it entirely escaped my notice. I suppose you were following it….?
MLB’s all-star tour of japan highlights :
1) Ortiz hits a 500 foot + HR on Friday
2) Manny Ramirez leaves the tour early, citing a troublesome hamstring
3) Tuesday, Roger Clemens celebrates winning his 7th Cy Young Award by talking to Dan Patrick during “Sportscenter” via tokyo princess phone. Clemens bristles at Dan asking him for the 15th time which cap the Rocket will wear on his Hall Of Fame plaque. Neither reporter or pitcher seem to recall that players can no longer choose for themselves, lest they be tempted to cut a deal with one of their former teams.
Other than that, I’ve not really been following it.
