Couldn’t there be a better way to improve the condition of the frail Red Auerbach than playing Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion” at deafening volume during the pre-game introductions? I do realize that there’s no other piece of music that is more representative of the Celtics players’ personal tastes, but does Boston’s marketing department really want Red’s death on their conscience?
Having the C’s starting five make their way to the parquet by climbing through the crowd was a nice, fan-friendly touch, but I saw Peter Gabriel do the same thing at the Orpheum Theatre in 1979. He was a better defender than Paul Pierce, too.
