I know the pros are supposed to be intimidating and all — hence the 300-style charge of John Randle, Franco, and Mitch Richmond in the commercial — but John Franco is really supposed to be intimidating? His best pitch was a change-up. Is Lee Smith really that busy that they couldn’t have gotten him in there? What’s Tom Henke up to?
Maybe they needed a lefty for platoon purposes. I think John Rocker would have been a better choice, and I think Spike is about the only channel whose ratings wouldn’t drop with Rocker on the payroll.

re : Spike. There’s a few bars in this town that seem to have the channel running continuously. Their UFC programming probably does better than Versus’ NHL coverage.
