Atlanta third baseman Jones sprained his right ankle as he slipped while trying to field Mike Matheny’s seventh-inning chopper. The combination of rain and the chewed-up grass, remnants of a Christian youth rally in late March, has left AT&T Park’s playing surface in subpar condition, which Braves second baseman Marcus Giles didn’t appreciate. “It doesn’t make any sense to me,” Giles said. “It’s not worth losing one of your top guys just so you can have a concert.”
Clearly, Giles is impervious to the charms of Amy Grant. So am I, actually, but I’m not working for a publicy held company.
Uh, I’d assume fathering a child with a Hooters waitress behind your first wife’s back will get you in some hot water with the big cheese. As well as naming your kid after Shea Stadium.
