Real Estate developer / basketball-dabbler Bruce Ratner has done the impossible : he has relegated the Knicks’ James Dolan to the status of 2nd Suckiest Franchse Owner in the Tri-State Area. The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand caught up with the Rat :
Jason Kidd returns to the court tonight as a Net, but for how long?
“I think he has a great future with the Nets,” Nets owner Bruce Ratner told The Post yesterday. “That is my hope.”
Ratner was at the Nets’ practice facility yesterday as the team hosted a Holiday Party for the Newark Boys and Girls Club. While cordial enough, Ratner wasn’t really in the mood to go into great detail about his plans for Kidd and the team.
“It is not something I really [want to talk about,]” Ratner said when asked about speculation that Kidd could be traded. “The talk is about him coming back [tonight.] He is a great player. I’ll leave it at that.”
After a short pause, Ratner added that Kidd is a “great person, too.”
