I didn’t manage to catch the Dodgers’ 3-2 loss to the Snakes last night (“Anaconda” was on basic cable again, appropriately enough) but Larry Brown Sports quotes Los Angeles broadcaster Vin Scully thusly ;
Vin was describing the tattoos of Arizona utility man Ryan Roberts (above) who was at-bat when he got in this blast:
œDid you see as many tattooed people outside of the circus with that Denver basketball team? They must not have a drop of ink in Colorado.
I’m doubly disappointed. First of all to learn that Scully is so out of touch with the cultural zeitgeist that he finds a multitude of tattoos disturbing. But mostly to realize that Vin is far too classy to regurgitate the “I guess that guy won’t be buried in Jewish cemetary” line that I haul out at the bar everytime A.I. appears on camera (LBS link courtesy Baseball Think Factory).
Fantastic headline…
Just awsome
