I spent a good deal of New Years Day watching the “Orioles Classics” on the Mid Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) when they reran the 1970 Orioles/Reds World Series.
Please don’t tell me how it ends, I’m still on Game 4.
I presume someone’s airing the 1969 series, right? The 1970 series is pretty great.
It caused me to have one of what is one of my most common recurring dreams- that Johnny Bench and the San Diego Chicken rent out my basement and refuse to pay their share of the utilities. This sounds ridiculous, but it’s 100% true and the dreams happen, perhaps not every year, but certainly a half dozen times in my lifetime.
Why I might have viewed The Baseball Bunch as some kind of metaphor for a group house, you got me, but there it is.
