….to think about Nate Robinson, David Lee and Channing Frye beating up on Cleveland. And enjoy it while you can!
(the Cavs’ Martynas Andriuskevicius, wondering just how badly that Cirque Du Soleil Beatles show must suck)
Former Longhorn Daniel Gibson had 8 points and 4 assists in 23 minutes for the Cavs. Sharrod Ford, described by Sonny Vacarro on SNY the other night as “a nice little player” (ever the diplomat, Sonny had argued earlier that LeBron has to get out of Cleveland due to the crap supporting cast) scored 18 and collected 8 rebounds. Cleveland’s Sasha Pavlovic had 20 points on 6 of 17 shooting from the floor.
MSG are replaying the game at 1am EST. If your idea of amazing late-night TV consists of watching Nate Robinson pass the ball to himself, you’re in for treat. Other than that, Channing Frye’s first action in 3 1/2 months (19 points, 5 rebounds) is cause for mild celebration. If I’ve already killed the suspense for you, the Knicks vs. the Suns and the rehabbing Amare Stoudemire is on MSG tomorrow night at 8pm EST.
Wizznutzz describes the Summer League as something akin to “young men far from home discovering their bodies, gently touching each other to show appreciation, affirmation, team unity. Comforting caresses from a teammate to console a desolate soul who was up all night clanging the rim in a desperate attempt to improve his foul shots, his nubile footwork, his ball handling skills.”
Other than most of the games being, y’know, not very good, that’s almost enough to get me on a plane to Vegas.
