The first one comes courtesy of Matthew Cerrone’s Metsblog, who notes the Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo tips the Mets to pursue the Sultan of Sloth. Does anyone know if Genya Raven is a Mets fan?
The day’s second please-god-make-it-stop moment is brought to you by the New York Post’s Michael Morrisey, who claims Wevie Stonder I is “looking for a four-year deal worth $40 million – a staggering sum even in this escalating market.”

I would take Carfados speculating with a grain as he also mentioned the Phillies as having interest in Wells. This makes absolutely no sense as the Phillies already have 6 starters on the roster (It is presumed that Jon Lieber will be moved). Wells has been vociferous in his disdain for Citizens Bank Park and per his autobio, Wells had a rather contentious relationship with Gillick back when he was starting out with the Jays.
