The AP is reporting that Washington SG Larry Hughes (above), currently leading the NBA in steals and averaging 21 points a game, will be out 4-6 weeks with a broken right thumb following a collision with Quentin Richardson during Saturday night’s win over Phoenix.

At 22-13, the Wizards have won 7 straight and are off to their best start in more than a quarter century.

Juan Dixon will take Hughes’ place in the starting lineup.
