NYC’s Fire In The Kitchen (above) dusted off some of the highlights from their Walt/Brinkamn/Behemoth Records catalog this past Friday night, gracing the stage of the Bowery’s venerable CBGB’s and blowing at least two dozen minds in the process.
Feel free to add Fire In The Kitchen to that pantheon of classic reformed bands mentioned in the September post “Monsters of Hacky-Sac”. And in retrospect, take the Spin Doctors off. Much the way Dennis Wilson was the only Beach Boy who surfed, I’ve been informed by several Wetland’s regulars that none of the Spin Doctors actually played hacky-sac (professionally, anyway).
they were great last february with endless boogie, too. bummed i missed friday’s show.
They were so completely awesome in February – I don’t know how I could have missed them – I am suicidal about it.
It hurt me so unspeakably much to miss the show – I caught their February show, my first of theirs, although I have all the albums. I hope anyone who was there will leave a description of the one that just was – tremendous photo!
Fre In The Kitchen… are they still alive?
photographic evidence is above. So yeah, they are still alive.
They’re as amazing as ever, and you know what that’s saying – they must be fucking insane not to tell people when and where they’re playing, everyone would go – sadly insane. An out-of-this-world presence at a concert oon every level – that ludicrous Sesame-Street beard thing so crucially has to go though.
Has anyone got a recording (audio or visual-audio) of the show, or photographs? I’d be pleased to purchase a copy. I understand there is a forthcoming third album to be released. Email [email protected] also if you hear of future shows. Yes, the beard’s a pity.
What sort of weird comment is that? Bob Bannister _always_ looks a zillion times better than any other person alive, and that Siberia show was flawless Gesamtkunstwerk in every way. Turn it what way you will, it was unassailable. Does anyone have any kind of record (like tape or film or something) of the CBGB show?
