USA Today is reporting that the Florida Marlins and Miami-Dade County have come to terms on funding plans for a new $420 million, retractable roof ballpark.
State Senate President Tom Lee, who was quoted earlier as saying “I don’t negotiate with terrorists”, can now look forward to, uh, working with terrorists.
Part of the deal for the team’s opulent new (empty) digs calls for a name change to the Miami Marlins. Which has more of a ring to it than the Los Angeles Marlins of Miami-Dade County, you’ve got to admit.
