The New York Mets announced today that they have acquired catcher/first baseman/outfielder Eli Marrero from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for infielder Kazuo Matsui. The Rockies optioned Matsui to Colorado Springs (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.

To think all that wining and dining by Jeff Wilpon’s lovely wife was for naught.

When and if Kaz receives the call-up to Coors, it will be terribly important for him to find a way to fit in with his new teammates. This t-shirt should really break the ice :
