Not so too many butt injection details to be had, but the following is still notable — we’ve not heard a similar admission from, say, Scott Schoeneweis. From the AP / SI.com :
Andy Pettitte used human growth hormone to recover from an elbow injury in 2002, the New York Yankees pitcher said two days after he was cited in the Mitchell Report. Pettitte said he tried HGH on two occasions.
“If what I did was an error in judgment on my part, I apologize,” Pettitte said Saturday in a statement released by his agent. “I accept responsibility for those two days.”
I guess Saturday’s a good day to make these statements:

Not being totally familiar with religion, why does he not know if his “2 day” steroid use was an error in judgment? In light of some of his preachy ass, Christian articles that look rather hilarious in hindsight, shouldn’t he at least acknowledge that our Lord and Saviour wasn’t the only one giving him the power on the mound? At least he has accrued more brownie points than mssrs. Clemens and Bonds.
Yeah, it’s a terrible apology, even by the standards of agent-drafted athlete non-apology-apologies. So terrible that it is in fact an apology: if you think I did anything wrong, then I’m sorry you think that. And if I did anything wrong, then I’d be sorry, too. Too many words, man.
