Sports Illustrated has issued the following statement regarding the lawsuit filed by former Alabama football coach Mike Price:
“Mike Price and Sports Illustrated have amicably resolved the lawsuit brought by Mr. Price following publication of the story ‘Bad Behavior: How he met his Destiny at a Strip Club’ on May 12, 2003. Mr. Price asserts that certain events were falsely reported in the story. Sports Illustrated continues to stand behind its story. Both parties have agreed that the terms of the resolution are confidential.”
Price, fired as ‘Bama coach shortly after the article ran, was seeking $20 million. According to inside sources, though Time Inc. was unwillling to pay anywhere near that amount to settle the case, they have told the current UTEP coach that he can order anything he wants from room service.
